Gualeguaychú (Agenzia Fides) - Popular movements play a valuable role in society and awareness of consciences: says President of the Argentinean Bishops' Commission for Social Pastoral, His Exc. Bishop Jorge Lozano, and Bishop of Gualeguaychú, who recalled how these changes "will help to promote the development of marginalized social groups".
As Fides learns, this is how the Bishop, in a brief meeting with the local press, expressed himself about these organizations: "They are of great benefit not only for the people they gather or represent, but also for society as a whole. They help to see the problems of the weakest and most vulnerable, who are often hidden or ignored and with few resources do miracles", he stressed. "The Pope encourages them because he sees the commitment and creativity that make human dignity and society equal", he said. "Popular movements have a very important role in the configuration of our society", and presented recycling cooperatives or housing construction as examples. Outstanding work is also carried out by organizations promoting environmental protection or those fighting for the rights of unemployed workers. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 16/07/2016)
