CUAMM

Padova (Agenzia Fides) - "I am with you in a direct and personal way to share what we are experiencing in South Sudan, particularly in Juba, the capital". This is what Fr. Dante Carraro, Director of Doctors with Africa Cuamm says to the volunteers to whom he says that: "the new phase of instability that the country is facing, involving mainly the capital Juba, is further aggravating an already fragile economic and social situation and jeopardizes the few securities that the peace agreements had placed as guarantee for the entire international community, especially donors". "We are in constant contact with the Foreign Ministry Crisis Unit of the Farnesina which is monitoring the situation and assessing opportunities for the evacuation of countrymen if the situation degenerates", says the director of Cuamm.
Fr. Dante also expresses profound "gratitude and admiration for the volunteers, doctors, nurses, logisticians and administrative, Italians and Africans, who are on site, and continue to dedicate themselves with courage alongside the southern Sudanese". "We are confident that in even in this circumstance the parties that are contending find an agreement that allows the country to acquire a certain balance, and thus allow the delivery of international aid to meet the many needs of the population which is exhausted. I assure the closeness, prayer and a lot of gratitude", concluded Fr. Dante. (DC/AP) (Agenzia Fides 13/07/2016)
