ASIA/INDIA -Educate and communicate, two lines of evangelisation: Salesian Sisters work with youth in India

New Delhi (Fides Service) - Instruction and communication are two strategic sectors of the modern world and therefore very important fields for evangelisation: said 30 women religious, Daughters of Mary Auxiliatrix co-ordinators of pastoral care of youth, social communications, and school who recently met in Calcutta to acquire a deeper understanding of the relation between instruction, communication, evangelisation and inter-religious dialogue.
During the meeting the Sisters shared experience of pastoral care of youth and social communications. According to the Salesian bulletin, ANS, instruction and communications are two strategic and vital channels of evangelisation particularly among young people. The Sisters reflected on the subject of evangelisation in a contact of inter-religious dialogue and relations between media and youth in India.
Many Catholic religious are dedicated to mission in the fields of education and social communications. The local Church is aware that this helps to build a society of tolerance, peace, respect for the rights of individuals and minority groups.
As the Bishops have often recalled, in India, as all over the world, Catholics have opened schools to promote social and cultural development to defend fundamental values and promote young people’s education to democracy.
