Jerusalem (Agenzia Fides) - "For 12 years you have animated the friars of the Holy Land Custody and taken care of the ecumenical relations with Greek Orthodox and Armenian Orthodox Patriarchates. Your fraternal friendship with the emeritus Patriarchs was clear. Your fraternal welcome towards each one of us was friendly and sincere", writes the Assembly of the Catholic Ordinaries of the Holy Land in a welcome letter to Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the new Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The letter comes in response to the message that Fr. Pizzaballa wrote to the faithful of the whole diocese.
In the letter, the Bishops say: "Our common desire is to open roads and build bridges which will safeguard us from the temptation to put a spoke in the wheels or barricade oneself behind unnecessary parochialism. Let us go forward together without second thoughts, without hesitation, without flinching, always loving each other. "The Bishops say they are ready to support Fr. Pierbattista and "to open mind and heart to make progress together in the encounter and mutual support" which the Administrator had stressed in his message. (PA) (Agenzia Fides 02/07/2016)
