Lahore (Agenzia Fides) - The Dominican Sisters in Pakistan have completed the construction of a new school building in Lahore with 12 classrooms, a teachers room and a playroom for all the children. The school has been operating for over 50 years, yet there are still no funds for desks and furniture.
Two long tables with chairs are needed. Currently the children sit on the ground under the trees.
With this new building, the nuns will be able to welcome them in a dignified manner in a classroom. Another project involves the supply of drinking water for pupils. During the warm months, from March to June and from August to October, water tanks will be connected to refrigeration systems, which will be turned off during the coldest months.
