Chimbote (Agenzia Fides) - The Bishop of the Diocese of Chimbote, His Exc. Mgr. Angel Francisco Simon Piorno, expects the members of the new Congress to support the measures of the new Head of State. "I hope the fujimoristas do not object to the initiatives for the Peruvians, it is time to think about the Country, we are waiting for domestic and foreign investment in order to promote employment in the country, because there are so many unemployed people in Peru" noted the Bishop talking to the local press.
The latest news on the ballot for the presidential elections held on Sunday, June 5: 97.57% of polling stations give 50,16% of the votes to Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (PPK) while 49,83 % to Keiko Fujimori thus a difference of only 0.33 percentage points.
The Bishop of Chimbote, according to the note sent to Fides, also mentioned that Pedro Pablo Kuczynski should be clear in his fight against crime and in favor of public safety: "the PPK has the enormous task of recovering social peace, we cannot continue to live in a climate of unprecedented violence". Ancash has suffered in recent years a climate of violence because of corruption and organized crime (see Fides 08/09/2015). (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 08/06/2016)
