Karachi (Agenzia Fides) - Young Catholics in Pakistan are "apostles of modern times": said Fr. Saleh Diego, Vicar general of the Archdiocese of Karachi, who recently took part in a meeting of the "Jesus Youth Pakistan" (JY) ecclesial movement. "It is a moment of joy to see many young Catholics committed to serving the Church. We appreciate the work of Jesus Youth, for the tremendous dedication, obedience not only in the Archdiocese of Karachi, but also in various countries. Jesus Youth transmits great enthusiasm for missionary work: you young people help people, especially other young people, to have a personal encounter with Christ", added Fr. Saleh Diego.
The Vicar invited members of "Jesus Youth Pakistan" to always be "apostles of modern times". Fr Diego Saleh presided over the Holy Mass in which 25 young people publicly renewed their commitment to be faithful to the Magisterium of the Church and to the charism of youth and missionary movement. Other 29 members of Jesus Youth professed the commitment for the first time. The celebrant laid his hands on their head, blessing them one by one
The head of Jesus Youth Pakistan, Ayyaz Gulzar thanked everyone present, in the hope that young people can always be faithful to their commitment and their evangelizing mission in Pakistan. (PA) (Agenzia Fides 06/06/2016)
