Yirol (Agenzia Fides) - "I thank the good Lord for the 'good' that I encountered these days in South Sudan, despite the recent insecurity, scarce resources, many people's hardships and sufferings". This is what Don Dante Carraro, director of Doctors with Africa Cuamm said, on his return from South Sudan. The note sent to Agenzia Fides reports the visit carried out to the hospital in Cueiebet where "mothers have started to give birth in the new ward (94 in April), the operating room works (15 caesareans in April), pediatrics is full of children", says Don Dante, who was also at the hospital in Lui, at the displaced emergency center, at the hospital in Yirol where in 2016 CUAMM opened a new neonatology ward. Independent since 2011, in recent years there have been clashes between two factions in South Sudan, one led by President Salva Kiir and the other by former Vice President Riek Machar.
