ASIA/KOREA - Auxiliary Bishop of Daegu appointed

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) – The Holy Father, Pope Francis, on 31 May 2016, appointed Auxiliary Bishop of
the archdiocese of Daegu (Korea) Reverend John Bosco Chang Shin-Ho, assigning him the titular see of Vescera.
Rev. John Bosco Chang Shin-Ho was born 25 May 1966 in Daegu, in the province of Gyeousang-namdo, archdiocese of Daegu. He studied Electronics at the University of Youngnam and them completed his studies in Philosophy and Theology at Daegu Major Seminary. He was awarded a Degree in Theology from the Pontifical College Regina Apostolorum in Rome (1993-1996) and a Licence in Liturgy from the Saint Anselmo Pontifical Institute of Liturgy, also in Rome (1996-1998). He was ordained a priest on 25 August 1998.
He has served as follows: 1998-1999: assistant parish priest at Bongdeok, Daegu; 1999- 2002: Doctorate in Liturgy at the Saint Anselmo Pontifical Institute of Liturgy in Rome; 2002-2009: Docent at Daegu Major Seminary; since 2009: Executive Secretary of the Liturgy Committee of the Korean Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
