Padre Hurtado (Agenzia Fides) - "In a system that proclaims that salvation is in power, in wealth, in the monopoly of knowledge, there are situations which cry out. The reality challenges us and is fundamental to us: human trafficking, the conflict in Araucanía, the dehumanizing relations, the situation of migrants, young people in vulnerable situations, drug trafficking, violence, should indicate our reply, although sometimes we experience a kind of helplessness and bewilderment", reads the final message of the National Assembly of the XLVIII CONFERRE (Conference of the Religious of Chile), published yesterday.
The meeting, held last week to verify and update the 2015-2018 triennium Global Plan, saw the presence of major superiors of major religious congregations in the country.
"We accept the challenge proposed in this National Assembly, to promote a culture of encounter, starting from the Word of the Gospel, ends the text sent to Fides. We are ready to live the intercongregationality in missionary communion, where life cries out before the Araucanía situation, human trafficking, migrants. We, like Mary in the Magnificat, want to reflect our belief that salvation comes from God and is already at work, that his action is hidden in the poor, but is effective and causes joy".
