AFRICA/KENYA - Appointment of the Rector of the "Christ the King" Major Seminary in Nyeri

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On November 27, 2015 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed Rev. Peter Maingi Mutune, of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Nairobi as Rector of the "Christ the King" Major Seminary in the Archdiocese of Nyeri, Kenya.
The new Rector is 41 years old and has been a priest for 9. He carried out his priestly formation in Rome at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, where he studied philosophy and theology. After his ordination he was an assistant priest in his archdiocese, he studied for a Licentiate in Canon Law at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi (2007-2010). Since 2010, he has been a formator in the Seminary where he was appointed Rector. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 18/03/2016)
