AMERICA/COLOMBIA - 38 children out of danger born from pregnant women who have the zika virus

Barranquilla (Agenzia Fides) - According to the latest epidemiological bulletin of the National Institute of Health, until March 5, there have been 941 cases of zika cases regarding about 4,020 pregnant women of the Caribbean Region in Barranquilla. To avoid complications, it was decided that the children of infected mothers will be checked. In the District, among 888 cases of pregnant women suffering from zika, 38 children were born, all out of danger. In Colombia 9511 pregnant women out of 51,473 cases reported to the Secretary of Health became ill. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 16/03/2016)
