Mukono (Agenzia Fides) – Kyampisi Childcare Ministries (KCM) based in Uganda has reported at least six cases of mutilation and killing of children as sacrifices to obtain “good luck ” in recent elections held in that country. One KCM volunteer says that people still believe that blood offerings can obtain wealth and power. Similar reports came from Uganda’s interior Ministry regarding the disappearance of minors during the electoral campaign. According to KCM, which cares for children victims of abuse and trauma, the reported cases took place between October 2015 and February 2016 in the central Ugandan districts of Ssembabule, Mukono, Buikwe and Mubende. Another serious phenomenon in Africa is spreading discrimination against albinos, denounced by the United Nations, in connection with the increasing number of politicians anxious to win the elections who turn to witchcraft and black magic exploiting organs of these unfortunate victims.
