AMERICA/HAITI - Privert interim president will lead the country towards a new government

Port au Prince (Agenzia Fides) - Interim President of Haiti, Jocelerme Privert, assumed his post on Sunday, February 14, in a ceremony at the National Palace in Port-au-Prince, before members of the bicameral Parliament, the diplomatic corps and the highest representatives of the Catholic Church in Haiti. Privert will have to lead the country with the task of completing the difficult electoral process and establish a legitimate government that should assume power in May.
Jocelerme Privert, new interim President, who until his election was the President of the Senate of Haiti, played an important role in the government of Jean Bertrand Aristide and Rene Preval. (CE) (Agenzia Fides, 16/02/2016)
