AMERICA/PERU - "Adopt a child and act against child poverty"

Chota (Agenzia Fides) - On the occasion of Carnival, the Centre Ideas together with the Fundación Ayuda en Acción have launched a Carnival Campaign of Solidarity "Adopt a child and act against child poverty". The objective is to promote the value of solidarity, taking advantage of this period of great celebrations for Carnival which sees the participation of hundreds of citizens who are urged to take part in the development of the poorest communities of the Cajamarca region, by adopting a child or a child of the districts of Conchan and Chalamarca, in the Chota province, where the project is underway. In addition to financial contributions, the campaign wants to establish a bond of friendship with the children in order to build intercultural exchange. With the support of benefactors, sustainable projects are carried out which help not only the children adopted, but also the family and the rest of the community.
