Lima (Agenzia Fides) - On the occasion of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Fourth Latin American Missionary Congress (COMLA IV), which was held in Lima, the Pontifical Mission Societies in Peru have promoted a Missionary Symposium to be held on 4 and 5 February at the auditorium of the Colegio La Reparacion in Miraflores. In addition to recalling COMLA IV, which was celebrated in Lima from 4 to 8 February 1991, the Symposium intends to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the conciliar Decree Ad Gentes and the 25 years of the Redemptoris Missio encyclical.
According to information sent to Agenzia Fides, this event is part of the preparation program for the V American Missionary Congress (CAM 5), to be held in Bolivia in July 2018. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 02/01/2016)
