Bogota (Agenzia Fides) - The Pan-Amazon Ecclesial Network (REPAM) is launching a new program: an educational radio program, which allows you to know, understand and find solutions to environmental, social and ecological, cultural and political problems.
The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world, with 6 million square kilometers.
The note sent to Fides by REPAM informs that the radio series "Laudato Sì" is a popular version of Pope Francis’ encyclical, in a language that is understood by all. It develops the core idea that climate change is destroying Mother Earth and its consequences bring terrible damage to all living beings, especially to men and women.
We are talking about 20 programs of 10 minutes each. All have the same goal: to raise awareness of what "ecological citizenship" means, stressing the urgent need to change course and overcome the patterns of consumption, the culture of waste, the model of technocratic civilization, commodified and ambitious, that is not sustainable. The program is aimed at students, teachers, catechists, journalists and families, it can be heard and discussed at home and in social groups. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 29/01/2016)
