Madrid (Agenzia Fides) – The NGO of the Spanish Catholic Church “Manos Unidas”, which deals with development, is launching a new annual campaign against hunger: “Plántale cara al hambre: siembra". In addition, on the occasion of the National Day of NGOs to be held on February 14, initiatives and events will be carried out throughout Spain. According to information sent to Fides, the campaign marks the beginning of three years of fighting hunger (2016-2018) during which the NGOs will work to respond to the causes and problems that cause hunger in the world, starting with a Triple perspective: the misuse of food resources and energy; an international economic system that excludes low-income households and certain lifestyles and consumption that increase vulnerability and marginalization.
