Managua (Agenzia Fides) - The Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Managua, His Exc. Mgr. Silvio Baez, asked yesterday, 14 January, the Attorney General's Office, to investigate the case of the loan of $ 1.2 million approved by the Council of the "Seguro Social", of which the unknown "Teleconstrucciones Guillen" company, created three months and 15 days before the approval of the state loan, took advantage.
Mgr. Baez stressed that the case should be clarified. The supervisory authorities of the State are still keeping quiet after a week since the publication of the news in "La Prensa" newspaper and the president of INSS (National Institute of Seguro Social) himself has not said a word in the last forty days.
"This is money that belongs to workers", said Mgr. Baez in the statement sent to Fides. "If there is a complaint, there must be an investigation; all this helps transparency in the management of public resources".
The local press is pending the investigation of the Superior Council of Private Entrepreneurs (COSEP), that promised to investigate the loan and to draw up a regulation that is able to govern the ethical conduct of members of its union who work for the government. (CE) (Agenzia Fides 15/01/2016)
