El Fasher (Agenzia Fides) - In Zamzam refugee camp, near the town of El Fasher, capital of North Darfur, the schooling of about 18,000 students is at risk. According to local sources, the lack of funding has forced the closure of many schools on 31 December 2015. In the statement released by Radio Dabanga, the local spokesman adds that "the 48 centers run by various NGOs, offered education services to children and social and psychological support for children traumatized by armed conflict. The closure will be the leading cause of school drop-outs and many more children will find themselves facing an uncertain future. (AP) (Agenzia Fides 07/01/2016)
