Yaounde (Agenzia Fides) - Only one African country, Cameroon, welcomes over 300,000 refugees from Nigeria and the Central African Republic, according to data from the Inter-ministerial ad hoc Committee responsible for managing emergency situations. The Central Africans make up the majority of refugees, more than 251,000, welcomed in eastern and northern regions of Cameroon, while the Nigerians, fleeing the violence of Boko Haram, are about 51,000.
Therefore 400,000 people, including foreign refugees and internally displaced, need support from local authorities and international organizations. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 16/09/2015)
