EUROPE/ITALY - Priestly Fraternity of the Missionaries of St Charles Borromeo marks 20th anniversary

Rome (Fides Service) - “Cardinal Ratzinger promised to preside this celebration. We are happy that the reason for his absence is his election as Bishop of Rome” said Mgr. Massimo Camisasca, Founder and Superior general of the Priestly Fraternity of the Missionaries of St Charles Borromeo which is celebrating its 20th anniversary today.
So it will be Cardinal Camillo Ruini, the Pope’s Vicar for the diocese of Rome who presides a solemn anniversary Mass in the Basilica of St Mary major this evening at 6pm.
Mgr Camisasca said this means “the Pope is even more rpesent and we are happy to have Cardinal Ruini in his place: we were born of the diocese of Rome and this Church helped us to embrace the entire world”.
The superior general of the Priestly Fraternity of the Missionaries of St Charles Borromeo makes special mention of John Paul II and don Giussani, “whose departure from this life calls us to be more adult and to have no fear, seeing the great promise made to us”.
The Priestly Fraternity of the Missionaries of St Charles Borromeo is present in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Austria, Kenya, Canada, Russia and Argentina and other countries with 25 houses.
