ASIA/SINGAPORE - 546 cases of Dengue: last week Singapore registered highest number of new infections in seven days

Rome (Fides Service) - The number of cases of Dengue fever registered in the past week in Singapore was the highest ever. A total number of 546 people have contracted the viral infection.
The local health ministry has ordered hospitals to interrupt all other treatment to deal with the numerous cases of Aedes aegypti mosquito bites. Since the beginning of this year in Singapore 8,800 people have been infected and eight have died .
Singapore’s National Environment Agency charged with keeping the disease under control, keeps a map of districts with most danger of contagion and places of most recent cases registered constantly updated.
