AMERICA/CANADA - Over 40 million HIV positive people in the world, 37 million are adults and of these 17.6 million are women

Rome (Fides Service) - The AIDS Vaccine 2005 International Conference organised by CANVAC Canadian Network for Vaccines and Immunotherapeutics being held in Montreal, Canada, closes tomorrow 9 September.
An overall picture of the most recent basic clinical and socio-behavour research relative to the development of vaccines for HIV will be presented by immunologists, virologists, developers of vaccines, doctors, epidemiologists, clinicians, public healthcare experts and members of the pharmaceutice sector will discuss the most urgent questions in matters of research and new frontiers in the field of HIV.
According to the most recent statistics (2004), 40 million people in the world were HIV positive, of these 37 million were adults and of these 17.6 million were women; 4.9 million more people were infect and about 3 million have died including 510, 000 children under 15.
