Lima (Fides Service) - “Mary Star of the New Evangelisation is the theme of a Marian Congress organised by the Life and Spirituality Institute at St Augustine’s College in San Isidro district of Lima, the capital of Peru. Congress is open to anyone who wishes to know more about the figure of Mary in this special Year of the Rosary.
It is will inaugurated on Friday 8 August with a Celebration of Mass presided by Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani, Archbishop of Lima and Primate del Peru. Among the participants, Archbishop. Antonio Cañizares of Toledo Primate of Spain; Bishop Jose Antonio Eguren, auxiliary of Lima, numerous men and women religious and also lay members of various movements. The Congress will close on Sunday 10 August with Mass presided by Archbishop Luis Sebastiani of Ayacucho Peru). Themes for reflection include: “The Virgin Mary in the life of the Christian today” “Mary in the priestly ministry and in consecrated life”, “The presence of Mary in Family Life”, “Mary’s life: a model for daily life”, “The dignity and vocation of women.
