EUROPE/PORTUGAL - Missionary Youth: 207 young people volunteer to spend two months on mission in Africa, Asia and south America

Lisbon (Fides Service) - On July 21, at the start of Summer holidays from school and universities, a group of 207 young men and women representing 24 centres in Portugal for Missionary Youth volunteers set out for Portuguese speaking countries for two months of mission experience. This year most of these young volunteers ready to devote a good part of their Summer vacation to missionary activity are girls. In fact the groups comprises 150 young women and 57 young men. They will live their first mission experience in Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe and East Timor.
In view of this Summer iniziative these young people take a special course of preparation since they will find themselves in a completely new environment.
