ASIA/CHINA - The Sisters of the Immacolate Heart of Mary continue to welcome new vocations: three sisters make perpetual vows, eight others take temporary vows

Lin Fen (Fides Service) - The Congregation of Sisters of the Immacolate Heart of Mary in Li nFen diocese, Shan Xi province of mainland China continues to welcome new vocations. Recently on the same day that three new Sisters made their perpetual vows and another 8 took first vows the community of 40 Sisters led by the Mother Superior renewed their promises of poverty, chastity and obedience. So now this diocesan congregation has 63 Sisters and 5 postulants.
Lin Fen diocese (today Hong Dong), was created in 1950. It has a community of over 30,000 Catholics assisyed by 25 priests some abroad for studies or pastoral service in other diocese. It has 37 churches and chapels. The congregation was founded by the diocesan Bishop Francis Han Ting-Bi in 1950. It is of diocesan right and has the approval of the Holy See.
The sisters are dedicted to prayer, pastoral work in parishes and assistance particularly in the field of healthcare in three local hospitals.
