Tuesday, 19 July 2005

Beijing (Fides Service) - On 20 July the Summer oratory for children opens at Holy Saviour parish also referred to as Bei Tang or north church, one of many parishes which offer Summer activities for children ever more popular with children and parents .
One mother told Fides: “Here my son receives a good education. The teachers in charge of our children are well qualified They help them grow in the faith by means of games and sports. We know they are safe also from a moral point of view in the church yard. Both I and my husband go out to work so the oratory is a wonderful solution to our concern for our little boy while we are away”.
One of the priest organisers told Fides: “This is not the usual Summer kindergarten, it is much more. We aim to teach the children to be good Christians. The oratory is a place where we can transmit the fundamental values of Christian education. It is a place where we can evangelise children and help them prepare for Baptism and first Holy Communion. We always start the school year with a special Mass to thank God that our boys and girls have grown in the faith”. (Agenzia Fides 19/07/2005 righe: 25 parole: 262)
