AMERICA/PERU - “America launches a challenge: let’s globalise the culture of life” : Lima will host 2nd International Pro-Life Congress 10 - 13 November 2005

Lima (Fides Service) - To be the voice of the voiceless, to protect life with life, to be heralds of the moral principles at the foundation of society and promote responsible sexuality and healthy population policies founded on the truth and respect for human life from conception to natural death: these are the main goals of the 2nd International Pro-Life Congress on the theme “America launches a challenge let’s globalise the culture of life”. The event scheduled for 10 -13 November in Lima, is organised by the Centre for the Promotion of the Family and Natural Fertility Regulation and the National Coordination “United Pro-Life” Office and it is promoted jointly by the Pontifical Council for the Family and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Peru with the Archdiocese of Lima.
The Congress aims to bring together pro-life experts and activists and organisations and movements from as many different countries as possible. At the end of its four days of reflection and discussion Congress will present a set of conclusions. The programme includes 2 symposiums with round table discussions of world experts on themes such as: the value of human life; education to love; women in the 21st century; political-juridical situation of pro-life themes.
On the agenda also talks in continental groups to promote coordination and national, regional and world articulation of pro-life strategies.
