AMERICA/MEXICO - “The Formator of the 21st century: profile and mission” focus of National Assembly of the Organisation for Mexican Seminaries taking place in Mexico City

Mexico City (Fides Service) - To reflect on the profile and the mission of the seminary formator in the 21st century and the most suitable pedagogy and means to foster the formator’s growth as a person and outline the formator's mission and pedagogical work: this is the objective of a meeting taking place in Mexico City 11-15 July at the Mexican Missionary Seminary run by the Missionaries of Guadalupe. Organised by the Mexican Bishops’ Commission for Seminaries and Vocations, through the Organisation for Mexican Seminaries OSMEX, the meeting will also elect a new board of direction for three year term 2005-2008.
About 115 rectors and Formators from all over Mexico are attending the meeting. Daily celebrations of the Eucharist are presided by the following celebrants: Archbishop Giuseppe Bertello, papal Nuncio in Mexico; Archbishop Alberto Suárez Inda of Morelia Vice-president della of the Mexican Bishops’ Conference; Bishop Hipólito Re Larios of Orizaba President of the Bishops’ Commission for Seminaries and Vocations, and Fr. Juan José Luna Erreguerena, Superior General of the Missionaries of Guadalupe. The conclusions emerging from these days of reflection will be of great importance because they will indicate criteria and priorities on which to base the work of formation in seminaries in the future: The assembly will also strengthen communion and sharing among rectors and formators.(RZ) (Agenzia Fides) (Agenzia Fides 15/7/2005, righe 18, parole 235)
