Buenos Aires (Fides Service) - On 13 and 14 August at the Our Lady of Lourdes Education Centre and Holy Family Basilica Maipù and Pueyrredón, Banfield (Buenos Aires) there will be the 6th National Meeting of Missionary Families with the slogan ‘The missionary family promotes and protects life’ says a message sent to Fides by Fr Adrian Santarelli of the national office of the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith Argentina, and Néstor Corvalán, National Delegate of the Argentinean Bishops’ Council for Missions CONAMIS.
The meeting intends to: reflect on the missionari dimension of the family at the serive of the promotion and protection of life; listen to and answer concerns presented by families; offer families the necessary information to address difficulties in their environment and places of mission.
The meeting will start early in the morning on 13 August with a talk “Memory of the progress made by Missionary Families up to today”. This will be followed by time for ample information on the value and protection of life from the medical, psychological, theological and social point of view. After group reflection, in the late evening the findings will be presented to the assembly. The day will end with Mass followed by supper and then songs and testimony and night prayer.
On Sunday 14 August individual missionary families will illustrate their activity and this will be followed by time for questions and answers.
