Lima (Fides Service) - The national office of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Peru has started preparations for the 2nd national Holy Childhood Congress to be held 4 -7 August at Trujillo. “Immaculate Mary leads us to the Eucharist and the Eucharist leads us to Mission” is the slogan chosen for the event. The organisers expect about 2,000 children members of Holy Childhood groups in parishes and schools all over Peru to take part in the Congress to share their missionary fervour and love for Jesus Christ with certain symbolic gestures.
Another iniziative involving children is a competition with the title “Try, prayer works!”, launched by the Family Rosary Apostolate Office of the Peruvian Bishops’ Conference which this year has the theme “Healing the heart of the world like Jesus does!” Children from schools, parishes or movements may enter the competition with a drawing, painting, poem, video or photograph representing daily life and the virtues and values taught by Jesus to build peace in society. Winners for each category will be selected by a panel chosen by the Family Rosary Apostolate Office.
