Jerusalem (Fides Service) - All you want to know about the Catholic Church in the Land of Jesus can be found in the latest edition of the Directory of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land prepared by the office representing the Pope in Jerusalem the Apostolic Delegation. The volume, usually only in Italian, this year is also available in English.
The directory gives detailed information on the ten Catholic dioceses, the Latin Patriarch and five Churches of oriental rite, as well as lists of names of bishops, dioceses, parishes and schools, religious orders, communities and locally established Church movements. It also describes the activity of these Catholic communities such as schools for disabled children, social and healthcare services.
In the Directory the readers will find names and addresses of humanitarian agencies and works for solidarity, as well as the main Holy Places and Shrines and institutions in the care of the local Catholic Church. A special section gives details on the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land.
