AMERICA/PERU - “We wish the Madrid demonstration massive support from all over Spain, a country to which we owe the precious gift of the faith” Provincial Superior St Paul Mission Society in Peru and diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Arequipa told Fides

Arequipa (Fides Service) - “We are deeply saddened and concerned to see these attacks on the family in Spain and a will to violate every child’s right to grow up in a family where the father is a man and the mother is a woman”, said Fr Victor Livori mssp, Provincial Superior St Paul Mission Society in Peru and diocesan director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Arequipa. We wish therefore - Fr Victor told Fides - to say first of all “that the fundamental nucleus of society is the Christian family formed by the union of a man and woman. If this law is approved and children are forced by law to live with homosexual couples we see concerning consequences because to develop properly children need secure figures of reference”.
“We entrust the people of Spain, especially the children to Our Lady of Chapi - said Fr Victor - and we are close to them at this particular moment of their history. On behalf of my religious institute, my parishioners here in the St Paul Apostle parish in Buenos Aires de Cayma, Arequipa, I assure spiritual support and applause for the organisers of the pro-family demonstration in Madrid, to defend the true family, the rights of children and freedom”. Fr Victor said he hopes the event will receive massive support “We see Spain as our mother country which gave us the precious gift of the Catholic faith and the moral principles stemming from the law of freedom given us by God”.
