Thursday, 2 June 2005

Taipei (Fides Service) - The new St. Camillus Centre for mentally handicapped children will be officially inaugurated on July 31st. The centre is equipped to care for mentally retarded children as well as those in coma requiring treatment 24 hours a day.
The children will attend special school lessons and the older ones, aged 18 to 30, will have a chance to learn simple handwork.
“This year - said Camillan Father. Giuseppe Didoné - our centre in Taipei was asked to organise activities for all Catholic care centres in Taiwan which are about 25. We started with two days of spirituality. About 50 people took part. Now we have a series of workshops coming up as well as visits to other centres”.
