Hong Kong (Fides Service) - “The mission of new evangelisation calls for the involvement of every believer. Catholics are called to bear witness with their life” said Ms. Lai, chairperson of the Hong Kong Lay Catholics Council at the end of a diocesan Year for Evangelisation. The Hong Kong diocese bulletin Kong Ko Bao said Ms. Lai called on lay Christians in Hong Kong to “live in a Christian spirit to promote a culture of new evangelisation and to assume personal responsibility for evangelisation”.
Looking at the results of the diocesan Year for Evangelisation, Fr. Ferdinand Lok, head of the team charged with organising the Year’s initiatives, told Kong Ko Bao: “concern for evangelisation has increased. Many parishes have formed their own evangelisation groups. Caritas Hong Kong also responded with commitment and concrete results, for example many non Christian Caritas helpers have asked to be instructed in the faith”.
