EUROPE/SPAIN - Thousands of people accompanied by 52 Bishops make pilgrimage to Saragozza to re-consecrate the country to the care of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in this Year of the Immaculate Mary in Spain

Saragozza (Fides Service) - Thousands of Catholics from all over Spain accompanied by 51 Spanish Bishops and the Pope’s representative in Spain, Papal Nuncio Archbishop Manuel Monteiro di Castro, are making a pilgrimage to Saragozza organised by the Spanish Bishops’ Conference, 21 and 22 May in the framework of the Year of the Eucharist (universal Church) and the Year of Immaculate Mary (in Spain 8 December 2004- 8 December 2005 ). The purpose of the pilgrimage is to re-consecrate the country to the care of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The pilgrimage will start on 21 May at 6.30pm 18,30, with a Marian prayer in Piazza del Pilar the meeting point for pilgrims from all over the country. At 9p[m there will be the recitation of the Rosay on the streets and a youth prayer vigil in the Basilica del Pilar followed by all night adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Sunday 22 there will be catechesis for young people and a midday closing mass presided by Bishop Elías Yanes, Apostolic Administrator of Saragozza.
