Brasilia (Fides Service) - “Each charisma is a gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church and must flourish in a genuine manner bearing its proper fruits in evangelisation” said Fr Daniel Lagni national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies PMS in Brazil with regard to the 1st Inter Institutional Mission Congress held in São Paolo attended by 250 men and women religious of 70 different missionary institutes. “The event - Fr. Lagni told Fides - renewed awareness that every missionary institution or congregation is called to make its own specific contribution to missionary activity in Brazil ad gentes”.
The national director underlined that all missionary bodies in Brazil, the PMS the Bishops’ Commission for Mission and Inter-church cooperation, the Conference of Religious in Brazil, the Centre for Missionary Culture and others, expect from the various ecclesial expressions born for prophetic vision, articulated service in local Church pastoral, availability for mission and renewed openness to mission ad extra. “All this naturally in harmony and close collaboration with Church institutions at the service of mission”.
