Shi Jia Zhuang (Fides Service) - After the announcement of the election of the new Pope, Benedict XVI , Fr Zhang Shi Jiang, editor of Faith bulletin (a Catholic bulletin published in He Bei), made the following statement to Fides (In China it is 1.30 in the morning) “We were all praying hard for the new Pope, we have again a head of the family. What is more now we have John Paul II in heaven and Benedict XVI here on earth with us and all together guided by the Holy Spirit we will continue our path into the new millennium which has just started. Now, with Benedict XBI we wait anxiously to see new prospects open for relations between China and the Holy See ”.
