Caracas (Fides Service) - In a letter of congratulations addressed to His Holiness Benedict XVI the Church in Venezuela said “ we thank God, Three in One, for giving the Church a new universal Shepherd a sign of continuity in the faith founded on the rock which is Peter” and at the same time expressing devotion and loyalty to His Holiness. It also underlined that his testimony of fidelity to God and the Church, his profound theological knowledge and his awareness of the problems of the culture of the modern world and the conflicts affecting so many people, illuminated by his prayer prayer and contemplation, “are an encouraging example for all believers”.
