Luciano Verdesca expert on Islam stationed in Cairo told Fides. “As a Catholic and a scholar in Islam I greatly appreciated the document Dominus Jesus prepared by this new Pope when he was Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, because dialogue with other religions is only possible when we have a keen awareness of our own Christian identity” the missionary said.
