Tuesday, 12 April 2005

Beirut (Fides Service) - Even Arab media and press in Lebanon continue to give ample space to the figure of John Paul II. This morning Al Anwar daily newspaper in Beirut had a large title “Pope John Paul II perhaps a Saint in December this year”.
The newspaper refers to a statement by Bishop Nowak, Secretary of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, and remarks on the great popular acclamation of the holiness of the late Karol Wojtyla and his beatification. Al Anwar also highlights the great numbers of people who travelled to Rome to pay a last tribute to the Pope and the affection shown by millions of ordinary people the world over.
