AFRICA/BURKINA FASO - Patients at Our Lady of Fatima AIDS clinic in Ouagadougou mourn the Holy Father

Wednesday, 6 April 2005

Ouagadougou (Fides Service) - Patients at Our Lady of Fatima AIDS clinic in Ouagadougou run by Camillian Fathers are mourning the Holy Father and accompanying him with prayers as he goes to meet God whom he served with a life of total donation sustained by a intense prayer and bearing of suffering offered, in unity with Christ, for the salvation of the world.
Pope John Paul II visited Burkina Faso twice and was welcomed with typically African enthusiasm and rejoicing. And this warmth and affection is visible now as not only Catholics but Muslims and followers of traditional religions join in prayers and morning for the Holy Father.
In our Home everyone remembers the Message the Pope wrote on the occasion of the World Day for the Sick, where he mentioned lovingly those who suffer from AIDS and those who care for them. Everyone is certain that the poor and the sick have as a precious intercessor with the Most Holy Trinity Our Lady, whom the Pope loved so much.
