Tuesday, 5 April 2005

Hong Kong (Fides Service) - The Catholic diocese of Hong Kong has urged Catholics to make the passing of Pope John Paul II an occasion for showing generous solidarity with those in need, according to Kong Ko Bao, the diocesan bulletin. Besides prayer services and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in Immaculate Conception Cathedral and Requiem Masses for the Pope on Sunday in every church and chapel in Hong Kong, the diocese has requested the faithful not to send wreathes but to offer the money in aid of tsunami victims. Catholics are convinced the Pope would approve of this gesture of charity in his memory.
