Rome (Fides Service) - Overseas Chinese Catholic communities on every continent are united in concern and anxiety for the health of the Pope. A woman member of Western Sydney Catholic Chinese Community in Australia, told Fides: “We have candles burning in every home as we pray for the Holy Father”. A Chinese Catholic in Hawaii said: “We have never stopped praying for the Pope. We keep the Internet and television on to follow developments from the Vatican”. Chinese Catholics in London, Toronto, S. Francisco contacted by Fides China desk all said they are praying for the Pope, especially with the rosary and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Many are gathered in private homes to pray. Many pray alone or in groups. All confide in the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary to comfort the Pope in these moments of suffering.
