ASIA/BANGLADESH - At Xaverian missions the sick, the disabled, volunteers, charismatic Catholics all pray for the Pope

Friday, 1 April 2005

Dacca (Fides Service) - From one of the poorest countries in the world there rises a pray to Almighty God for the Holy Father. At the mission run by the Xaverian Fathers in Dacca charismatic Catholics are gathered in prayer to praise God and thank him for all that Pope John Paul II has achieved during his pontificate. In hospitals and clinics run by missionaries and volunteers the rosary is the favourite prayer among the bedridden patients. At the home for people with physical or mental disability, situated not far from the Xaverian mission, volunteers pray unceasingly. The missionaries are also supplying the local information services with news and comments on the most important topics connected with the pontificate of Pope John Paul II.
