Vatican City (Fides Service) - Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, on 17 December 2004, appointed Rector of São Pio X Inter-diocesan Seminary in the archdiocese of Maputo Reverend Rafael Baciano Sapato of the diocesan clergy of Lichinga.
The new rector was born at Mecanhelas, diocese of Lichinga, on 10 August 1966, and was ordained a priest on 20 October 1996. He has been diocesan director for social communications and pastoral (1996-1998). In 1998 he was sent to Rome to complete his studies: in 2003 he obtained a Licentiate and Doctorate in Theology at Urban College.
