Rome (Fides Service) - On January 14 a team of students from the University of Pisa set out to join the well established DREAM anti HIV/AIDS in Mozambique programme run by the Rome based S. Egidio Community. This is the first in a series of missions to support the DREAM programme for prevention of mother/child transmission of the HIV virus. The team, three doctors approaching the end of their specialisation studies and two students taking a Degree in Nursing Science, will stay three months in Mozambique providing medical and nursing support.
During this year 2005 the University plans to send other similar missions involving a total number of 50 students to support programmes in Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Guinea Bissau. (P.L.R.) (Agenzia Fides 18/01/2005 - Righe 8; Parole 97)
