VATICAN - Cardinal Filoni on his visit: the enthusiasm of the Church in Bangladesh, the vivacity of the Church in India

Calcutta (Agenzia Fides) - "It was really comforting to see the small Church in Bangladesh with such enthusiasm that I would define overwhelming": this is what the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, Cardinal Fernando Filoni, who was reached in Calcutta by Agenzia Fides, said during the second part of his pastoral visit in Asia after Bangladesh. "It gives us great hope - continued the Cardinal – to see the vitality and vibrancy of Churches living as a 'little flock'. Even in Calcutta I met Bishops, priests, seminarians, and I received the testimony of a lively Church and present in society". The Cardinal's visit to Nepal, where he was to go after India, has been postponed as a result of anti-government unrest that is taking place in different parts of the country.
