ASIA/INDIA - Appointment of the Rector of the "St. Albert's College" Seminary in Ranchi

Vatican City (Agenzia Fides) - On 17 April 2015 Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, appointed rev. Deepak Valerian Tauro, of the diocesan clergy of Muzaffarpur as Rector of the "St. Albert's College" Seminary in Ranchi.
The new Rector was born on 2 August 1967 in Chickmagalur in Karnataka, and was ordained a priest in 1996. After his period at the minor Seminary (Masihi Gurugul) he studied philosophy at the Morning Star Regional Theology in Barrackpore and theology at St. Albert's College, Ranchi. He then earned a Master of Theology in Spirituality at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram in Bangalore. Since his ordination he has served in a parish, he was director of the Masihi Gurugul minor Seminary and has carried out various other diocesan roles. (SL) (Agenzia Fides 04/09/2015)
